Roger returned to painting in 2002 after 39 years working in the City. He studied painting with the Open College of the Arts, and attended art education courses in Bromley and at Flatford Mill field study centre. Roger now devotes most of his time to painting, both in his home studio, at a painting class in Bromley, and a life-drawing group in Sevenoaks.
Roger’s landscapes in oils are inspired by views on the Kent and East Sussex coast, and by holidays abroad. He is currently interested in sky and seascapes, and the effects of moonlight. Also in his portfolio are still-life paintings and life studies drawn in charcoal and pastels.
He has exhibited with his class, and in July 2006 with fellow-artist Clive Ball at the Ripley Arts Centre, Bromley.
